It is such a beautiful picture above. Walking the narrow way doesn't always look this pretty. Actually, it can be a struggle at times.
We all have a choice to make in this life. We either accept Jesus or we don't. If we accept Him then we have to believe everything He says. If we believe everything He says, our lives will look different than they once did. We will begin to see things differently. Things we used to do we no longer do because Jesus teaches us how destructive our ways were. He gives us the strength to turn away from those things. He begins to convict us when we do sin. We will want to turn from sin and be forgiven of it. He gives us a new heart and leads us into all truth.
Many roads lead to Hell but only one road leads to God. In Proverbs 14:12 it says there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. "Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her." (Proverbs 3:13-15)
God's words are more precious than rubies, it profits you more than silver and you gain more than fine gold. Nothing you desire can be compared to it. Think about that and let it sink in.
The Narrow And Broad Way
Matthew 7:13-14
"Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it."
What can we gather from this scripture? Not everyone chooses to know Jesus. Not everyone accepts Him and not everyone goes to Heaven. Jesus tells us that there are only a few that find the gate that leads to life. I often wonder, what does Jesus consider to be "few?"
The definition of few
1. a small number
2. used to emphasize how small a number is.
Few is the opposite of many.
Is Jesus using this word to emphasize that a small number of people find their way to Him? Do only a few people enter the Kingdom of God?
Right now, we currently live in a society where everyone wins. The world will tell you that you can die in your sin and be okay. That you don't need a savior, and you don't need to seek Him out. The world will tell you to be your better self and indulge in whatever makes you happy whether right or wrong. Sin comes at a cost. God doesn't want a single person to perish. In saying that, we have a choice to make. Choose wisely, choose Jesus! God can give you more than you can imagine. That space in your heart that has you constantly searching for love and joy will be found.
